March 31, 2012 - St. Augustine, Fl
We learned that Daytona Beach’s Farmer’s Market was held this morning, so prior to departure we ventured just across the street to the event. We started with empanadas (Mexican meat pies) and coffee at one stall, and then picked up bags of fresh produce to go. The market was small, yet had everything we needed.
Near Palm City we had quite a weather cell pass over us, with rain, hail, lightening and wind. We slowed Monarch, as the visibility was quite restricted.
Further on, the weather improved. This boathouse is set up for entertaining.
Tonight we anchored just south of St. Augustine, in the Matanzas River (Matanzas is Spanish for massacre, which they did to the Huguenots). All manner of derelict craft were here, having been displaced by the St. Augustine mooring field. Another three inches of rain fell as we slept securely on the hook.
